EcuTek Tuning (4 Maps – Fully Customizable & Rearrangeable)
- Performance with Burble – Enhanced performance with a mild burble on deceleration.
- Performance with Stronger Pops & Flames – Enhanced performance with louder pops and flames.
- Stock Map – Factory settings for standard driving.
- Anti-Theft Mode – Prevents the car from starting until the map is changed.
Included RaceROM Features: Rolling anti-lag, burnout mode, and launch control (for manual cars).
How do I change maps?
EcuTek: Manual cars can change maps while driving. Automatic cars must be stopped to change maps, or they can use the app to switch maps while driving.
The car can be running or in the ON position.
Hold the CANCEL button until the tachometer needle points to your current map. Then use the cruise control switch (up or down) to select your desired map (1–4). The needle will point to the map number.
UpRev: Both manual and automatic cars can change maps while driving.
Hold the cruise control switch DOWN and tap the CANCEL button the number of times that matches the map you want (e.g., tap 2 times for Map 2). You’ll see "SET" blink on the dash to confirm.
How does my flame map work?
Make sure you're on Map 2 (unless you requested different maps). Accelerate to above 4000 RPM, then let off the gas. As the RPMs drop, gently feather the gas pedal. This takes practice and flames won’t happen just by revving the car.
What supporting modifications should I have before tuning?
While we can tune your car to improve performance, throttle response, and rev limiter speed even without any modifications, certain upgrades will significantly enhance the results, especially if you're looking for more power, a sportier sound, or features like pops and flames. Below are the key modifications to consider before tuning:
Catback Exhaust: A high-flow catback exhaust system is essential for improving exhaust flow, reducing backpressure, and unlocking more power. It also enhances the sound of your car, especially if you're after pops and flames.
Test Pipes (Recommended for Best Performance & Flames): If you're aiming for the best possible performance and want those signature pops and flames, test pipes are a must. They provide the highest level of exhaust flow. Keep in mind, test pipes are required to get pops and flames.
High Flow Catalytic Converters (for Emissions-Conscious Drivers): If you are concerned about emissions compliance and don’t mind sacrificing some performance for legality, high-flow catalytic converters are a good alternative to test pipes. While they won’t provide the same performance gains or flames, they offer a better option for street cars where emissions are a concern.
These two upgrades are critical for unlocking the full potential of your tune. If you're aiming for the best performance and flames, test pipes should be your choice, while high-flow cats are a compromise for those who need to stay street-legal. All other modifications are optional.
I’ve installed supporting mods — what should I do before tuning my car?
Prepping your car for a tune is straightforward — in most cases, there’s nothing complex you need to do. However, to ensure a smooth tuning process and the best results, here are a few important things to check:
Must-Do:
- Make sure there are no mechanical issues that affect engine performance — especially vacuum leaks or misfires
- If your oil change is due, complete it before the tune
- If your spark plugs are old or worn, replace them
Highly Recommended (Optional, but beneficial):
- Clean your MAF sensors using proper MAF sensor cleaner
- Clean or replace your air filters if they haven’t been serviced recently
Taking care of these simple maintenance items helps avoid issues during tuning and allows your car to perform at its full potential.
Do I need EcuTek or UpRev?
- 2003–2008 Models: You will need UpRev.
- 2009 and Newer Models: You will need EcuTek.
We recommend EcuTek for newer cars to take advantage of its advanced programming, greater flexibility, and additional features. While UpRev supports all VQ engines, EcuTek offers enhanced practicality through the ECU Connect app and Bluetooth interface, making it a more modern and versatile solution for tuning.
Choose the software that best matches your vehicle's year and take your performance to the next level!
What do I need for UpRev remote tuning?
For UpRev remote tuning you'll need:
- UpRev Cable: An UpRev cable to connect your car's ECU to your laptop.
- Windows Laptop: The tuning software requires a Windows laptop for proper functionality.
- Reflash License: If your car isn’t already tuned with UpRev, you will need a Reflash license on the UpRev cable to tune it. After the initial flash, the license will be stored on your ECU and can’t be transferred.
Once you have these, we can start the remote tuning process, where you'll send us data logs, and we’ll send back custom tune files for you to upload to your ECU.
What injector size do I need for my car?
Injector sizing depends on several factors including your car’s horsepower goals, fuel type, and how your engine is tuned. Most stock injectors work well for factory power levels and minor modifications. Upgrading injectors typically becomes necessary only when significantly increasing horsepower or switching to different fuels like E85.
To help you find the right injector size for your setup, we’ve included an easy-to-use injector size calculator below. The basic mode offers quick estimates for most users, while the advanced mode provides additional options for those with a deeper understanding of tuning—such as performance shops, mechanics, or experienced enthusiasts—who want to customize settings like Brake Specific Fuel Consumption (BSFC) and duty cycle.
This tool helps you make informed decisions so you only upgrade injectors when it’s truly needed.
